Traditional bread delivery in Zelhem

Every Ascension Day the traditional event of ‘Broodlevering’ (Delivery of Bread) takes place near Muldersfluite, between the villages of Hengelo and Zelhem. In days past, peasants from the Mark between Hengelo en Zelhem were allowed to cut turf for their stables, in return for which they had to ‘deliver’ a loaf of rye bread for the poor.

Weidebosch has four luxurious wellness holiday cottages,

All cottages are completely fitted for 6 persons.

The cottages are detached, surrounded by fields with sheep, ponies and cows.

You'll find Weidebosch on a unique spot in the countryside of East Netherlands; "the green heart of the Achterhoek". Yet it is situated within walking distance (1 km) of the picturesque village Zelhem, with it's many shops and cafe terraces. The area is very beautiful with pastures, small forests, trees and small creeks. Lots of space and quiet. There are plenty of hiking and biking routes available.

Relax in your own private sauna, steam shower or whirlpool. Two cottages have an outside jacuzzi in their garden.

There is also a playground and the farm animals in at the neighbouring farm like to be petted.

We don't let our cottages to groups of young people and pets are not allowed.
